The Rabbit
The poor little rabbit
that missed an ear,
was angry, was lonely
and so full of fear.
Thus darkly its habit
conceived and threw up,
on the loneliest street
in the emptiest cup.
A horn then it grew
where the ear had once lived,
and Alice was fooled
and she was deceived.
“The Devil! The Devil!”
she screamed in despair;
She’d loved but a lie,
a meaningless hare.
No wonderland…
no mist to grow old,
so Alice just left
and the Devil felt cold.
